Note #1: Connecticut and Rhode Island do not have county
governments, although together they have four counties that would be among the
100 most populous counties in the United States. Therefore, above are
listed the 104 most populous U.S. counties not including three Connecticut
counties (Fairfield, Hartford and New Haven) and one Rhode
Island county (Providence).

County governments with either unknown or no official websites are those
counties in regular black font.
- Note #3: Due to
the fact that Boston/Suffolk County, Denver/Denver County, Indianapolis/Marion County,
Jacksonville/Duval County and Philadelphia/Philadelphia County have joint city/county
governments, official site of those cities were used.
