Historical Notes

  • Historical Note #1:  Due to the fact that Cleveland served two non-consecutive terms, he is considered to be both the 22nd and 24th President according to a ruling by the U.S. State Department.
  • Historical Note #2:  While all American Presidents have some sort of monument, museum, etc., only the past eleven Presidents (except for Richard Nixon) have libraries which are archives and considered part of the Presidential library system run by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).  The Nixon Library is entirely run by private funds and is not part of the NARA Presidential library system.
